At the University of California at Berkeley a group of pioneers, under the direction of Dan Werthimer, is building apparatus to look at a few thousand solar-type stars. Dan's colleague Geoff Marcy plans to look at archived spectra from the planetary search program that he and Paul Butler have been doing (successfully! they have found nearly a dozen extrasolar planets).
We are collaborating with another Optical SETI project at Princeton University.
At Columbus Ohio, Stuart Kingsley, for many years a lone voice in the optical SETI wilderness, is running an optical search program. He maintains a healthy web site in addition.
