Here in the Horowitz group, we name our computers after SETI luminaries. As it happened, Frank Drake came to visit our lab in March of 2002 (not for the first time) and the opportunity to stage an encounter between the computer and the eponymous Frank was irresistible. So we decided to have Frank write his famous equation and autograph on frank, and naturally took some snapshots for posterity.
